What is paintedstork.com?
paintedstork.com was initially built as a personal website by Arun, once an IT professional turned freelance travel writer and photographer. With growing readership and content focused on travel and photography, paintedstork.com aims to be a comprehensive guide with personal insights and photographs for travelling in India. The aim is to cover beautiful places across the length and breadth of India. The name paintedstork has nothing to with the content of this website. Painted Storks are a colorful species of migratory birds that come to breed in South India. I just happen to like them What kind of content is found on paintedstork.com? See India Travel Blog with information and personal insights on travelling all over India. See India Image gallery, updated with images from all over India on various genres including albums of places to travel to, people and portraits and street life, wildlife and landscapes of India. You can also buy prints of my photographs or request them for editorial usage through the gallery. Browse the contents of the site from the home page. More information on travel content A lot of stories here on India Travel Blog are journals and personal insights from Arun. You can occasionally see other articles such as information on places to see, interviews. or rarely some content from guest writers. More information on photography content You can see a comprehensive set of images on India Image Gallery. If you would like to learn photography, see my articles on travel photography. Most of the images posted are shot with Canon EOS 5D Mark II or Canon EOS 350D, 70-200 telephoto lens, 100-400L telephoto lens and 17-40L wide angle lens. Can I buy prints or requst for editorial usage? Yes. Please write to me with details of the images you require. You can also browse through my image gallery and make a request using the links at the gallery. I would like to feature your travel writing in my publication I regularly write for several newspapers and magazines from India and abroad. See a comprehensive list of my published works in my travel writing resume. You can contact me through the resume page with details of your content requirements. How is this site supported? This site runs on ad revenues. You see some ads on most of the pages which contributes some revenue. But it is only a small part of the money needed to maintain travel journals and photography equipment. How do I stay updated? Consider signing in for India Travel Blog newsletter. Newsletter dispatch is sporadic, and is usually one per month at the maximum. You can subscribe by going to either of the weblogs and entering your email ID on the form for newsletter subscription. Also consider subscribing to RSS feeds on the blogs. I have some more questions for you... Feel free to use the contact form to get in touch. I answer most of the queries, but not necessarily all. When you are mailing, make sure you have a proper subject line. I may end up guessing a query without a proper subject line as spam and delete it without reading. If you have questions related to any place, please be specific. It is almost impossible to answer questions like 'can you give me more details on certain place', or 'can you give some tips on visiting certain place'. Any general details or tips that I can provide are already published on India Travel Blog.
