Photo: A morning walk at Cubbon Park, Bangalore

I have been testing a Tamron 70-200 f2.8 VC lens lately and enjoying using it. A week ago, I took the lens for a test shoot in Cubbon Park, photographing the foliage on the ground leftover after the fall season and also the morning walkers in the area. Here is a photograph from the visit.

Photo: Lake Pichola and Lake Palace, Udaipur

Udaipur is a spiritual place. The large lake overlooking the densely wooded Aravali Hills can freeze your mind in the moment, not desiring anything else but a wish for time to freeze itself. It is comforting to watch the morning sun illuminating blue lake and dispersing the cold accumulated through the night. And a breakfast in Amet Haveli overlooking the lake with a book in hand, the morning can’t be more perfect.

Frozen Pangong Lake

Ladakh wears a white blanket in winter months. Post October, when the temperatures start dipping below the freezing point, the brown and barren mountain slopes get decorated with powdery snow. Mercury dips quickly in November and December months, often going below -30C in the high Changthang Plateau located in western parts of Ladakh bordering Tibet. The huge high altitude lakes in this region that paint the landscape blue in the summer months freeze and turn white. The weather is unforgiving but the landscapes is dressed in bridal wear. Here is a photograph of Pangong Lake made during the harsh winter of January 2013.
