Nearly all the photographs that I post here are from my travels. It is largely images of landscapes, people and places outdoors. Many of you may not be aware that I also work on more genres of photography, which includes shoot-on-assignment of interiors & architecture, hotels & resorts, product images for advertising, events and weddings. Do have a look at www.paintedstork.com to see a glimpse of my commercial work.
Here is a jewellery shoot that I recently concluded.

Photographing jewellery is a fun and challenging exercise that requires lot of thinking to eliminate all the reflection on the glittering surfaces.
This photograph adorns the March page on WWF India table-top calendar. A few more images of winter in Ladakh are featured in a few other pages of the calendar.
I made this photograph during a winter visit to Ladakh in 2011. The first thing that struck my mind on seeing this landscape was that the tiny-looking building did not exist when I came here the first time, in 2008. The confluence of a beautiful blue Zanskar River with a muddy Indus surrounded by mountains all around looks beautiful, but is scarred by the new construction.

We found the local changpa people shepherding these Pashmeena Goats in Changthang Plateau of Ladakh. It is amazing how these animals can survive with barest of the resources in extreme weather, foraging on whatever leftover grass from the last summer.
