I made this photograph at a festival in Thimphu two weeks ago. The packed crowd of local people that had gathered to watch the dancing monks was as charming as the performance itself. The spacious amphitheater was fully packed with men and women in their most colourful and most traditional clothes. More people kept arriving throughout the day, taking up whatever little space available. While most of the amphitheater was well-structured with typical steps surrounding the arena, this corner stood out with its brightly painted wall that appeared randomly constructed. The kira-clad Bhutanese women added to its charm.<\/p>\n
