ENTERING THE DIGITAL WORLD!
I bought my first SLR around 3 years ago. Since then it has been a major component of my life. I have gone places with it and taken several pictures. But all the time when I had it with me, I longed for something more than that. Around a year or so back, I felt the need for another body but I was never sure if I should really buy one or not. Since I wasn’t making big bucks out of photography, I was not sure if it was wise to invest on another camera.
But the advent of the digital SLRs and the falling prices have reassured me that it is all worth it. Buying a digi helps me shoot as much as I could without worrying about the cost of the films or processing them. There is no need to worry about X-Ray scanners at airport either. And having another body of a different kind will give me lot of flexibility. So here I am, after contemplating for a long time to buy a digi SLR, I finally own one. I was aiming for a 20D but after Canon released 350D(rebel XT), I changed my mind and just bought it.

I just started discovering the freedom of digital and am overjoyed by it. The concept of shoot-at-will and shoot-as-many-you-want makes me feel really good. Before jumping into things, I am now deeply engrossed in understanding the digital workflow. It would very well take me a month or two to master the whole thing. I would like to be shooting raw and spend my time on the computer processing the pixels myself into images so I would rather understand the science of digital photography well enough to feel comfortable and conversant. My future photographs will mostly come from my 350D although I am not going to abandon shooting transparencies completely.
