Sunflowers at Sun Set
I made this photograph in Badami during the monsoon season last year. Sunflowers usually bloom in July-August months, and in some places there is another season at the end of the year. It is grown in abundance in the fields of central Karnataka.
For some reason, unlike their usual behaviour, the flowers were facing against the sun. Perhaps it had to do with the fact that the sky was cloudy a little while before sunset. Whatever the reason be, it definitely worked good in making this photograph.

It took us three days of walking to get to this frozen fall. Located near the village of Neraks deep in Zanskar region, it can be approached in winter months only by making a long walk on the frozen Zanskar River.
The frozen river was a regular walking route was used by people of Zanskar to connect with the outside world during winter. It is still in use by locals, and is also popular as a trekking route. The frozen river is usually referred to as ‘chadar’, and the trek is known as Chadar Trek.
