When I was spending the summer in Ladakh last year, one thing that caught my eye prominently is the ads that travel agents displayed about Chadar Trek. Chadar Trek is a winter walk on the surface of frozen Zanskar river. The pictures I saw made it obvious that it is a magical journey walking on ice, watching the superb blue Zanskar treading through narrow valleys. It is something I would like to do desperately. Manish, who made the journey this winter shares his photos and experience on oktatabyebye.

There are few if any adventure treks in the Himalaya to match the Chadar winter expedition for sheer, awe inspiring beauty, and none to match it in terms of day to day challenge and excitement.
